Meet YUD’s New Fashion Director

And further afield from that, in other cities and states and countries, what are the unemployed donning before they head out into the big, bad world each day … or, no judgments, when they make no departure from their tender abodes at all?
Lindsey Hunter Lopez: EMPLOYED
Thank heavens we are now in the occasionally manicured hands of YUD’s new Fashion Director, Lindsey Hunter Lopez, who will be offering us weekly glimpses at the faces—and fashions—of the recession with her Unemployment Lookbook.
Hunter Lopez is currently “between jobs,” having previously written for celebrity weekly OK! and fashion quarterly Preen. Now reduced to a life of leisure, Lindsey trolls the city streets, silently judging people’s outfits. Sometimes she photographs fellow workless wonders and interviews them about their wardrobes.
When not documenting unemployment fashion and recession style for YUD, this sassy spitfire enjoys watching reality TV, going to bars, reading, writing, stalking dogs, and crafting. Lindsey lives on the Brooklyn border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint with her life partner, cameraman Nate Lopez, and invisible bulldog, Phil.

Lindsey, I like your hair! One question. How many days in a row do you think an unemployed person can wear the same sports bra? What if she doesn’t work out in it? What if she has really big boobs?

In regard to your “roommate’s” fashion quandry, jobinterrupted, the sports bra may be worn every day for … three weeks. If you were working out in said bra you would want to consider washing it earlier. The bigger the boobs, the sooner you need to launder it.
Three weeks! EEEEEEK! Now, I thought my hygeine level had slipped! Three days, at the most. Rinse it out in the sink, if you don’t want to spend the coinage at the laundrette.
