Songs to Collect Unemployment By, Part II
Posted on Monday, August 24th, 2009 at 2:27 pmHere’s an Unemployment Mix submission from one D.H., who recently moved up to the big city from down South and has endured his own bout with unemployment, most irritatingly being turned down for work due to “lack of NYC experience.” Which is not very constructive, potential employers!
At any rate, D.H. has since prevailed and joined the ranks of the employed, and now has taken some time out of his busy workaday schedule to put together a list of tunes for the rest of us.
He says, “I figure it’s drunken misery at 3:30/4 am the night of your firing, after coming home from a night of boozin’ w/ other fired friends, and you are in the lonely confines of your tiny one bedroom apartment.” How apropro!
Listen and enjoy. And feel free to submit your own unemployment faves. My offer to send you a disc of my mix still stands. (Though perhaps you don’t like Belle and Sebastian the way I do. I understand, sorta.)
