I have no idea how this picture relates to this post. Perhaps I am the squid chasing his escapee prawns, or maybe I am the leader in the “out of the pot” charge, or maybe I’m just stirring the pot. But it’s weird enough to love, no?

Anyway, I have a confession: I missed a post!

Ack! Horrors! Shame, shame! A pox on my mother’s uncle! (Ha ha, my mother doesn’t have an uncle! That I know of…)

See, since I started this blog, I have purposefully and occasionally petulantly posted every single day (sometimes even more than once) but last night, oh, last night….

It all started with a wine-tasting in Truro, and it ended with too, too, too much wine consumed, even for this wine enthusiast, so much that my usually typo-free prose (I am a copy editor, you know) was a muddle of letters and numbers, and I knew better than to continue.

So I went to bed. There is a good reason to do certain things early in the morning, like exercise and writing blog posts, in order to really get them done right and then carry on with the rest of your day.

But I thought, when this moment of the missing post came, I would feel horrible, like I’d let everyone (mostly myself) down and my unblemished record of consistency and competence would be marred forever.

Instead, I just feel mostly worried that my basil plant at home is suffering from lack of water and that it will not be revivable when I return to my apartment tomorrow eve. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please.

And, if you feel like I’ve truly let you down by missing a day, let me know. I respond well to guilt trips and nitpicking. Just ask anyone.

Either way, hang in there, because I have a lot more time to write when I’m not in the company of my highly energetic pinot-pushing parents, and I’ve got more to say, yo.

* From hence, Tuesday, September 15 will be known as “the day of the missing post.”

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

I truly do understand the pinot-pushing parents, I have a set myself.

Although, sometimes they are more like vodka vendors. Those are some long nights.
