Separation Anxiety

Today I’m off to boxing class, and then to the Connecticut wedding of my dear friend C. and her lovely about-to-be husband S.
Punching plus nuptials. How apropro.
I will not—and I imagine this is how a mother feels when she leaves her firstborn with a babysitter and heads out to drink herself silly in the big wide world alone—be bringing my computer. Oh, oh, oh. It makes me nervous just to say.
Every single overnight stay since beginning this blog, up until now, has meant the inclusion of my little Mac. In the past 5 months, he’s been to Jamaica, Montauk, Boston, Cape Cod, Washington DC, and Florida, safely journeying to each destination in the comfort of his plush computer sleeve. He’s a pretty good traveler. Better than me, actually.
But tonight, I will have to rely on my mind and memory for potential post fodder. After all, the wedding is but a 45-minute train ride away (even though we rented a red Mini Cooper to get there, no comments please). And I’m only staying one night, with hardly a free moment between the ceremony, reception, all-night dance-a-thon, and brunch the next day.
It will be okay, right?
