I’ve been bad. The sleep-creep has started up again. Remember my 4 am-1 pm sleep sched back in the summer of neverending consequence? Ah yes, well, it’s back with a bit of a vengeance.

I blame this in part on some really good books I’ve been reading at night. The kind of books that keep you up until 1 am and when you look at your clock and find you’re not tired (the books are that good/exciting/compelling/insomnia-inducing), you just keep reading.

And when you look again, it might be 3 am, or in the case of one book, 7 am. (I admit, that was crazy. I pulled an all-nighter to finish a novel. Where are my priorities?)

Ah, there’s the rub. My priorities are all diffused and numerous. It’s hard to organize them sometimes. For example, getting coffee is a priority, as is keeping up with Twitter alerts, as is writing this post, or that one, and going to the gym, and making my bed, and looking for a full-time job that doesn’t give me the jivvers, and taking back the American Apparel-wear that I didn’t end up using for Halloween, and, oh, the list goes on…

So maybe, at the end of the day, staying up late and finishing a book is one priority that I can really focus on. Or I just want to get lost in someone else’s troubles. Current book: The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. Any struggling job-seeker should read this one, cause it will give you quite the lesson in perspective-having.

And, anyway, it’s not like I take naps!
