Hold Fast to Your Dreams, Little Ones

I’m heartened to find that in this day and age of unrequited dreams and crushed hopes, there are those who continue to strive against all odds to accomplish their goals, however whimsical or strenuous or far-reaching they may be.

Take Donna Simpson. She currently weighs 600 pounds, or so she says, and she’s trying her durndest to win the Guinness Book of World Records‘ title of World’s Fattest Woman.

But before you snicker, consider this: It’s not all easy-breezy-beautiful-CoverGirl riding around in scooters, eating whole chickens in bed, and trying not to blush for fear of burning calories when the neighbor kids point you out and shout “Hey fatty-fatty!” in the local Mickey Dees. There’s real commitment involved!

“I’d love to be 1,000 pounds,” said Simpson. “It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down.”

Simpson is determined to win. But if she doesn’t, she’s cool with settling for world’s fattest mom, an honor it seems even her children are thrilled about.

Watch out MILFs, there’s a new initial abbreviation in town.

She bought some radio ads here in my hometown. When she speaks it sounds like she can hardly breathe — unbelievable!

    Yes, I believe so.
