Why is today so long?
And why do I wish that it were shorter, thereby cutting my time on this earth down by several hours if only so that I could be at home watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey instead of here looking up at the MetLife building and checking the clock periodically between uppercasing and lowercasing the letters in certain charts which must not be mentioned by name and offering the occasional “Bless you” when a neighboring freelancer sneezes and wondering if perhaps I should have said “gesundheit” instead, because who am I to assume I know what prayers he might or might not be saying in his head?
